our process
We like to work collaboratively. Typically, clients will have a rough idea of what they want, but we have many examples to share for inspiration. Additionally, you can come to our show room and view samples of lanterns on display too.
Roof Lanterns will be designed to suit the opening size and CAD drawings allow us to show you the elevation sections and more detailed plans of our proposal.
All the parts of the Roof Lantern are made at our joinery facilities, machine cut and sprayed in your chosen desired colour. We fully assemble the whole structure in the factory to check everything fits properly and complies with our quality standards. Only then do we disassemble and deliver to site. No special access or lifting equipment is required for installation, making it a simple and straight forward completion of the process.

All items manufactured at Input Joinery are designed and use materials with a longterm view in mind. As our products are exposed to the elements, being able to stand up to rain, sun, wind and a freeze is important.
Longevity is achieved through our process of powder coated aluminium capping, with care and attention taken to the angle of the frames and glass to counter rain ingress and the impact of poor weather. As a result, minimum maintenance is needed for hard-to-reach sections of the roof lantern.
Our joinery products rarely need repainting. Sections that face indoors are, in combination with the choice of materials used, sufficiently protected. The parts exposed externally have the added protective powder coated layer.
To help regulate the temperature in a room, or allow for fresh air, clients can choose from manual or automatic roof vents. We can design Roof Lanterns to complement your windows and doors, even if fitted at a later date.
Our projects cover a wide range of properties. Typically part of a new extension, our Roof Lanterns offer an additional aesthetic that is not achieved with a simple flat roof.
